2017 is set to be a great year for equestrian events in the UK. From show jumping to cross country, there’s plenty to keep you occupied. We’ve collated the top events from all around the country so you can be sure you won’t miss an event this year.

2017 Highlights


  • Blue Chip Winter Championship Finals – 5-9th April

The Blue Chip Winter Championships is a must for any show jumping fan. Held at the beautiful Hartpury Arena in Gloucestershire, this event is guaranteed to display some of the finest show jumping in the country. This championship includes coverage in the indoor arena as well as the outdoor arena so provides a great all round display of show jumping.

  • NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships – 12-16th April

This event displays the top dressage professionals as well as amateurs in an intense 5 day show. The event is held at Hartpury Arena, a top equestrian venue in the UK. There are a total of 29 titles up for grabs over the whole competition so if you’re into dressage, this is something you can’t afford to miss.

  • London Spring International – 12-17th April

If you’re based in the capital on the 12th-17th April, then head down to the ExCel for an entertaining few days of dressage and show jumping. This event promises to be a must see event so make sure it goes in the diary.




  • Royal Windsor Horse Show – 10th-14th May

The Royal Windsor Horse Show is a popular show held at the Windsor Home Park. It’s a 5 day spectacular event displaying top international talent for dressage, show jumping, carriage driving and endurance riding. There’s lots of luxury shopping and hospitality opportunities with this event too so it’s the perfect event for those looking for something special this year.

  • Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials – 12th-14th May

This event offers some amazing equestrian sport as well as family entertainment in the beautiful setting of Chatsworth. This year it is also hosting the first leg of the Event Rider Masters Series.

  • Bramham Horse Trials – 8th-11th June

Bramham, located in North Yorkshire, provides a beautiful setting for some top class horse eventing. This event provides great equestrian competition, as well as some great social activities that create the perfect weekend.

  • Hickstead British Jumping Derby – 22nd-25th June

The British Jumping Derby is held at Hickstead, West Sussex. It’s an annual event that showcases the very best of British equestrian talent. It’s considered one of the top events of the year.

This includes some of the toughest courses in the country and attracts only the top rated names in equestrian sports.




  • Barbury Horse Trials – 6th-9th July

Join the world’s top eventing talents for a must see event in 2017. The Barbury Horse Trials promises to display top class eventing where jockeys, eventers and showjumpers will all put on performances across 3 days.




  • Longines Global Showjumping Champions Tour – 3rd-6th August

This circuit tour partners with the Royal Hospital Chelsea in the heart of London to produce a thrilling event.

With some of the top names in horse riding battling it out on the tour, the London event is bound to display some great competitions. Olympic athletes will feature heavily as it’s one everyone wants to win. Be sure not to miss it.

  • Festival of British Eventing – 4th-6th August

The Festival of British Eventing is held at Gatcombe Park and is an all-encompassing event for any horse riding fan. It includes some of the top competitions such as the British Open, Novice Championships and the Corinthian Cup. The event also includes lots of entertainment and hospitality to ensure you have a memorable and enjoyable time in Gloucestershire.

  • British Showjumping National Finals – 8th-13th August

If you’re after the very best in show jumping competition, then look no further than Stoneleigh that’ll host the British Showing Jumping National Finals. Expect a thrilling event full of the country’s best horse riders battling it out.




  • Festival of Endurance – 29th-1st October

For those who enjoy endurance riding, the Festival of Endurance at Builth Wells, Wales, is a must see. This event promises to capture the very best in endurance riding in the UK.
