Agricultural Timber Buildings
Available in a range sizes and specifications.
At Blackdown Buildings all timbers are pressure impregnated with preservative by our parent company, Brookridge Timber, who has over 30 years’ experience in the timber supply industry.
It is important when choosing timber as your preferred frame material that the right species is selected and timber in ground contact is treated using the correct treatment cycle (Use Class 4) in accordance with the British Standard for treatment of timber (B.S.). Further detailed information on timber treatment is available upon request.
All our buildings are supplied using Treated Redwood for the upright columns as standard. Additionally, there are two main options available to improve the service life of the building:
- Firstly, we can offer Structural Oak columns. This is a timber species that is very durable and naturally more resistant to fungal decay and insect attack than softwood.
- Alternatively, a steel shoe can be supplied which raises the column out of the ground to avoid ground level contact with the timber where it is at more risk of fungal decay.
Please contact a member of Blackdown Buildings for more information on the choices available.
